About Us
It seems in this male dominated society of ours, women take a lesser role in overall upliftment of the society. However, the fact tells a different story where irrespective of their unashamed exploitation, they keep moving upward and playing a decisive role in the society. Understanding and consequently reviving the poor tale of rural and vulnerable fairer sex, we Sabala Organisation, set up as a non-profit organization that works for empowerment of women. We have been serving the society since 1986, by providing employment to poor and economically backward women. Our organization has been constantly working for upliftment of women and children in Karnataka. We offer employment and training to widows and economically backward women so they can independently earn and sustain their livelihood. Our group of women craft exquisite range of products such as handmade Jewellery, Bags, Footwear, Gift Items, Silk Stoles, Woollen Printed Stoles, Plain Stoles, Silk Woolen Stoles and many more that make us one of the key manufacturers, exporters and suppliers.
The sole motive of this organization is to curb social evils like child marriage, child labor and migration in search of employment. Our organization provides rehabilitation for landless and house-less people of Almatti Dam Submerged Villages. We provide professional training to them and give them employment that makes them financially independent. In addition to this, we are proud members of Fair Trade Forum- India and WTFO-Asia. Sabala established a craft development centre in the year 1998 with prime objectives such as:
- Promote the Traditional Craft
-
Giving strong impetus to self employment to control migration
- Giving marketing Facilities to enhance regular income and sustainability
-
Giving lessons on entrepreneurship quality among artisans to sustain livelihood independently
